Natural high-grade parquet board Befag Oak Select. Natural high-grade parquet board Befag Oak Select Sorting Select single-strip board

Befag Oak Select parquet boards are produced only in Hungary. The production line is automated, the quality is consistently high from batch to batch. The main advantages of Befag parquet are ideal geometry and drying, selected wood.

All adhesives, varnishes, oils and tinting compounds used by the Befag factory are safe for human health. Henelit Nano Protector varnish coating is applied in 8 layers and is characterized by improved scratch resistance and antibacterial properties that reduce the proliferation of microbes on the surface of the parquet.

The design of the Oak Select parquet board is three-layer: on top there is valuable oak wood 3.7 mm thick, the lower layers are made of European coniferous species. The layers have a mutually perpendicular structure, which ensures geometric stability in all directions even without gluing the parquet to the base.

The Oak Select parquet board has a third generation PanLoc glueless lock. This is a standard lock for parquet, familiar to all installers. Installation of floors requires a dry and level base - the maximum height difference is 2 mm per 2 m². Befag parquet can be laid on a heated floor (it is better to use a water floor). For floating installation, you will need a cork backing or similar.

The warranty on Befag Oak Select parquet boards is 21 years.

Sorting Select single strip board

Slightly patterned structure with slight differences in color, with small knots. Differences in color between planks are acceptable. Well-grown healthy knots are acceptable up to 3 mm, if they are not black and not in a group. Sapwood 3-4 cm wide and 20-30 cm long is acceptable.

Sorting Select two-strip board

Slightly patterned structure with slight differences in color between the slats and small knots. Well-grown healthy knots up to 5 mm in diameter, black knots up to 3 mm in diameter are acceptable even in a group. Sapwood 2-3 mm wide and 5-10 mm long is acceptable.

Solid parquet is divided into grades, depending on the characteristics of the wood. When sorting, the uniformity of the pattern, shade differences, the number of knots and the presence of cracks are taken into account. There are several types of wood cutting: radial, tangential and mixed. But even without cutting selection, solid oak boards are divided into the following grades:

  • Premium;
  • Select;
  • Nature;
  • Rustic.

It should be borne in mind that there are major differences between grades, but each company in many cases uses its own grading method, and the names of some grades may differ, as well as the requirements for one or another grade. So you can find varieties: classic, avant-garde, standard and others. Many people are most often interested in solid select oak boards. How does the “select” variety differ from other varieties, and why is it more in demand?

The select grade is not the highest, since in the manufacture of solid boards some deviation in the arrangement of the fibers is allowed, but this deviation is insignificant. Solid oak board Select is considered optimal in terms of price/quality ratio. This is selected massive parquet without sharp changes in shade, without cracks, knots, wormholes and other defects. After installation, the floor looks monochromatic, without distracting attention from other interior elements.

What colors are solid oak parquet boards of the Select grade available?

The colors and shades of solid oak parquet boards help to emphasize the individuality of the interior and indicate the taste of the owner. But the natural shades of wood are quite scarce, especially within any one species. Therefore, modern technologies make it possible to give the flooring any imaginable shade. There are so many colors that it makes no sense to list them all. A solid select oak board can have cognac, chestnut, chocolate and other shades.

To make the solid board more decorative, the most popular exotic shades are also given. In some cases, even bleaching is used. In this case, the board becomes dazzling white. There are such massive boards as: “Arctic Oak”, “Snowy Oak” or “Vanilla Oak”. Of course, it is immediately clear that this is not a natural creation, but the work of human hands. But in some cases, to create a certain interior, just such options are required.

What are the prices for solid oak parquet “Select”?

Solid parquet boards made of select oak, as already mentioned, are not the highest grade, but you can’t call them cheap either. We can say that in terms of cost it ranks second from above. Each company sets its own prices for solid oak parquet of the “select” grade, which may differ from each other. But it cannot possibly be lower than the prices for solid boards of the “rustic” variety, for example, or “nature”, since its quality is higher than the other specified varieties.

If the same processing methods were applied to a solid “oak select” board, then its cost will be the same, regardless of the shade. But a varnish or oil coating can to some extent affect the cost of a solid board. If you are immediately thinking about the care and further restoration of the floor covering, then you should take into account that it is impossible to restore a small area of the varnish surface. In case of serious defects, it will be necessary to restore the entire floor. An oil-coated oak floor can also be restored in a separate area, but this advantage is not critical, since a solid oil-coated board requires more careful handling. It is easier to scratch than varnished.

When determining the possible cost of flooring restoration, take into account the operating conditions from the very beginning. If you are sure that the solid board will be used carefully, then choose an oil coating. This will help you save at least some money in the future.

Solid board is one of the oldest and most popular flooring materials, because even before block parquet appeared, it was boards that were laid on the floor. Solid wood was already in particular demand in the old days - as a floor covering this material exceeds all expectations. The wood is pleasant and warm to the touch, it perfectly insulates sound and gives harmony. Solid wood is a durable material, which is why even the floors in some ancient castles are still usable. It is also important that wood is a natural material with its own energy - it allows you to feel unity with nature and has a beneficial effect on the microclimate of the room.

This is a high-quality coating that protects parquet from impacts, scratches, moisture and dirt. The varnish covers the surface completely, leaving no open pores, and does not require complex maintenance. It is colorless, semi-matte, so it looks as natural as possible.

The laying of solid Parquetoff Oak Select boards should not be below ground level. Operation of the coating in conjunction with a heated floor system is unacceptable. At the same time, it is very important to choose the right glue and follow the technology, so laying solid boards should be trusted to professionals.
